Our Heisman Scholarship

On 13 July 2024, our Fantom Troopers traveled to Marysville, PA for an amazing experience where we got to meet the wonderful Family, Friends, and community of PFC David “Heisman” Dietrich”.

Thank you to Tara and Jean Raisner for coordinating this and loving and fostering David in his youth. It is obvious the love, compassion and genuine care you gave and showed David and we laughed and cried listening to your stories.

Thank you to Bob and VFW 882 in Marysville for hosting and amazing event. It was truly remarkable and we are blessed at the support you showed us old vets and we are honored you hosted us.

We are excited to announce that in coordination with F Troop, 1 Cav Brigade Reconnaissance Troop (BRT), 1AD, the Raisner Family, VFW 882 and the Auxiliary Club that in 2025 we will start the David E. Dietrich Scholarship Fund to honor a recipient that represents everything that David did: Honor, Duty, Loyalty, Community, Love and Commitment to making it against all odds.

This is the first of other scholarships announcements as we hope to honor all the BRT heroes who lost their lives with scholarships in their names.

More to follow as we work with the families and communities on the projects and guidelines.
